Take Pants out the ballgame, take him out to the crowd...

We didn't buy him peanuts or cracker jacks...but we will definitely remember our super fantastic afternoon at the Indians game! Pants' first ballgame was not so much ballgame as it was atmosphere and people watching, but it was the perfect afternoon. Our ideal family outing!

In other news, we have a doc appt. on Wednesday so we can get new official measurements (not that I don't trust the Wii, but...)

Coop has moved into his own room officially, tonight will be night #2...hopefully it will go well. He is equipped with new nightlight and Mozart.

Right now he is in hour of sleep 3.5 under Aunt Michele's groovy baseball quilt-- he seems to really like the combo of the quilt and Boppy...thank you Mooshi!!!!

I would come up with something more clever to write now, but it's getting late and I'm tired- we're up for a bottle here any minute then off to sleep (well, at least that's the plan!) Enjoy the pictures. If you're up on Facebook, we've posted an oodle of them there since it's easier to share them on that site (and I've become mildly addicted).

Good night!

3 weeks and about 210 diapers later...

Mr. Pants is already changing and growing so much - we'll do our official at-home weigh-in today (via the ever accurate Wii Fit!) :) Last time it said I was holding something "8.2 pounds that was wiggling."
Things are going well, he's chugging his bottles a little more frequently ever since we upped his ounces, word in the books says that this week is a common growth spurt week, so we may see lots of changes over the next little while. I am feeling great, thanks to my daily outings and walks with friends...I think I would go a little coo-coo for cocoa puffs if I had a baby in the winter. Getting out and about with Pants has been key, I think.

Yesterday, while sitting on a nice shady bench at the Monon, 3 people asked me if Cooper was a preemie. Seriously. This 8+ pound noodle of ours a preemie? My friend LaQuita (whose own little guy, Jackson is just 2 days younger than Coop) thinks it's because folks aren't used to seeing such young babies out and about. We've both gotten comments from believers in old wives tales, etc. and until she said that, I didn't think about it that much. Well, here we are world, a group of mommies who take our doctor at her word when she says - get out there, and enjoy the weather!

We tried to enjoy an evening of watching Brad mow the yard last night, but the bugs were pretty bad and seeing that Pants has inherited (so far) my very pasty complexion, I'm guessing he's just as tasty to the mosquitoes as I am. It was entertaining for the little bit we were out there - Brad just inherited his grandpa's riding mower from Brian after Brian's move into town this past weekend. It's an AWESOME piece of machinery that easily dates back probably 40+ years. Take that, neighbors with your shiny, new John Deers. Our mower can eat yours for lunch! hehee! Here's a shot of a very similar one...except ours has the deluxe addition of red indoor-outdoor carpet on the seats...I think that makes it an LX model! :) I literally about peed my pants when Brad was driving towards the back gate and I asked "is that as fast as it goes" and he moved some handle, then almost got left behind while he and the mower just about took out the edge of the gate.

The thing may be old, but it can haul. Brad's almost mastered doing the the back porch area in a progressive donut pattern at high speed!

In other news, I've become officially Facebooked. I know, those of you who have had the conversation with me a few months ago about how I just didn't get what the big deal was are probably laughing at me fiercely...but I'm hooked and am fascinated at the ability to connect with folks I went to elementary school with!!! The even more disturbing part is that I find myself on it when I feel like I have less time now than I did before Pants came along...but I guess his mid-day naps do allow for more surfing time. It is, admittedly, a great way to get or stay in touch with folks, especially with Pants on board now.

Speaking of, I better get going and get ready for today's walk - we're meeting up with Betsy (who took the fabulous pics of Cooper--the really good shots like the one of him smiling above) - she rocks with that camera of hers! Have a good one, everybody!

The Bug, Boog, Mr. Pants (aka Cooper)

He already has a million nicknames, but we can't help it! Here are a few shots from today. Thanks, Jennifer for a super snazzy summer outfit....the video has a nice sneeze in the middle for your viewing pleasure, too.

Some pics and a quick hello!

Hi everyone! So much to tell - I promise to type up Coop's birth story soon- it was a good day. Since then we've learned so much - mostly that we have a lot to learn. With that said, though, Brad and I are finding that being parents is so amazing pretty much because we have an amazing little guy. We're in day 5 right now (actually technically in 10 more minutes as I type this). Without further ado, here are some more pics we wanted to share...Thanks to Bob & Helene Cross for providing Cooper's first "big boy" outfit today (Brad picked it out as his first outfit besides a gown!) He was quite preppy and of course cute. Brad convinced him not to work a pop collar...instead going for a more "golf appropriate" look! :)

Also, there is (hopefully) a video posted here as a shout out to all of our United Way friends who chipped in for our shower gift--- Cooper LOVES...and we mean Looooooooves the soothing swinger and we can't get enough of how incredibly cute he looks in it with the teddy bear head rest. We're getting so much use from it and thank you all every time he sleeps for 2+ hours in it!
